Speech & Language Therapy

Therapists work with young children with a delay in communication. We have experience in oral motor speech challenges, apraxia of speech, language comprehension, stuttering, cleft palate, and articulation (word pronunciation). We use a variety of techniques to facilitate functional communication for young children and their caregivers.

Special Instruction

Teachers help families support the social, emotional and cognitive development of young children. This development occurs during play and daily routines. Special Instructors can also help with behavior challenges.

Occupational Therapy

Therapists work with young children who demonstrate a delay in self-help, fine motor skills, feeding issues, sensory processing issues and social interaction.

The Process

Early Intervention

Families can contact Early Intervention in their county and ask for a free developmental evaluation.  Any child can be evaluated.  No doctor referral is needed.  Families can request our agency, Lehman Speech & Language Services, if speech therapy, occupational therapy, or special instruction is determined necessary for that child.  Early Intervention therapy services are provided to families free of charge.

Testimonials

My daughter enjoyed doing speech with Ms. Rebecca. She made it fun and kept my daughter’s attention with all the activities she did! My daughter made a lot of progress in speech with Ms. Rebecca and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun and kind hearted speech therapist. She was patient and even taught us many tools that we find ourselves using on a daily basis even with our other children.

We didn’t have Miss Rebecca for very long due to our son’s 3rd birthday, but in that time, she was able to interact with our son and have him open up. Our son doesn’t open up to strangers at all, and he was talking more to her and after our sessions. It seems natural for Miss Rebecca to interact with young children and make speech fun. We have very high expectations now for our next speech therapist because we feel our son benefited greatly from the sessions we had with her. We only wish we would have had longer!
